Baby Steps

Well, Kimber took her first steps last night!! They were tiny timid ones, but they were definitely unassisted steps! We were all so thrilled! (As you can tell by all the screaming in the video) It was bittersweet knowing that Jordan missed the moment, but we made sure we documented it so he can see it when he gets home!

Kimber's First Steps!

Jordan left on November 5th for his two month training in Alabama. It was a sad morning for Kimber and I when we dropped him off at the airport. Having him gone-coupled with veteran's day- has truly made me grateful for our troops/veterans. My first instinct was to feel sorry for myself and wallow in self-pity, but the more I think about it, the more I realize how selfish that is! Here I am, surrounded by friends and family, the holidays approaching, and Jordan is stuck in Warrant Officer boot camp getting his butt chewed out all day, every day! I am so grateful to have a husband that is willing to sacrifice so much for our country, as well as our little family! And I'm grateful for all of the troops and veterans who have sacrificed so much as well!

Kimber's First Halloween

Kimber's first-ever Halloween costume (not counting her contributing to my pregnant nun costume last year) was SUPPOSED to be a monkey, but there was a lot of confusion as most people thought she was either a bear or a puppy. But she was super cute, nonetheless. We took her trick-or-treating to two houses and she thought the candy was fantastic! In fact, she threw a minor tantrum when we tried to replace the sucker she was holding with a laughy-taffy. We figured a sucker stick down her throat would be an unfortunate ending to our Happy Halloween. Jordan and I busted out some awesome Adam and Eve costumes that were incredibly un-flattering, but pretty funny. They consisted of a too-tight flesh colored jumpsuit with fig leaves over our "privates." (Don't worry, I will NOT be posting pictures) It was a fun day and we're looking forward to next year's Halloween in Bama!

First blog post-ever!

Well, after countless people telling me countless times to start a blog for our little family, I've finally done it! Jordan and I have been married for a year and a half, and our little honeymoon surprise, Kimber, is almost 9 months old! Jordan is leaving for Apache helicopter flight school for the National Guard on November 5th, and Kimber and I will be heading down to Alabama to join him in January. We're super excited for our two year Alabama adventure and are counting down the days till we get to go!
